Look what I made today

I got this idea today from Sugardoodle. Not too long ago I stopped buying children's soap and shampoo, and my girls what I use (including, usually, my shower). They love to use washcloths so I thought I'd make this... it's half of a regular-sized washcloth, decorated and stitched up to make a little soap pocket that will get all fun and sudsy for them. The finished product is about 5" square; plenty of room for a bar of soap. The one they had on Sugardoodle used velcro to close the opening, but I thought that might be scratchy if any of it was poking out so I opted for a button instead. I started making two of these today but on the other one I sewed up the sides before I'd zig-zagged the applique; oops! Live and learn. I'm not much a seamstress and I'm even less of a directions-follower when sewing, which is why this turned out a little crooked. But, that's okay -- it'll do the job! I think the girls will be really excited about it. I already had the floral fabric, the button, the yellow thread, and the iron-on stuff to make the heart stick, so this went pretty quickly. And I must admit, it was fun to sew something!

To give credit where credit's due,

Anniversary!

Me and the Mister have been married 13 years today. Thirteen! Wow. We kept the celebration low-key last night by going out to dinner at a nice little restaurant in downtown Gilbert called Liberty Market (where I had the BEST white pizza and Aaron had the BEST chicken sandwich), followed by Dairy Queen for dessert and then watching a couple episodes of Lost at home. We really enjoy each other's company; I'm so lucky to have him.

Happy Anniversary to us!

Time to buy a swim suit!

September is my usual swimsuit shopping time. The past two or three Septembers I have taken advantage of end-of-summer sales from my favorite online swimsuit companies.

I have been wanting to buy a new suit from Lime Ricki, and today they announced (on Facebook) that EVERYTHING is 50% off through the 7th!

Last year I bought a swimsuit from Modbe right before they went out of business. That was in the fall, and it was so fun to start wearing it when spring/summer rolled around. I think I'll do the same thing this year but with a new cute Lime Ricki suit. Go get one!

(Have any of you bought a swim suit from Lime Ricki before? How do the sizes run?)

P.S. You may have heard that Shade is going out of business. Everything is on sale there too!
