(front)
(back)I got this idea today from Sugardoodle. Not too long ago I stopped buying children's soap and shampoo, and my girls what I use (including, usually, my shower). They love to use washcloths so I thought I'd make this... it's half of a regular-sized washcloth, decorated and stitched up to make a little soap pocket that will get all fun and sudsy for them. The finished product is about 5" square; plenty of room for a bar of soap. The one they had on Sugardoodle used velcro to close the opening, but I thought that might be scratchy if any of it was poking out so I opted for a button instead. I started making two of these today but on the other one I sewed up the sides before I'd zig-zagged the applique; oops! Live and learn. I'm not much a seamstress and I'm even less of a directions-follower when sewing, which is why this turned out a little crooked. But, that's okay -- it'll do the job! I think the girls will be really excited about it. I already had the floral fabric, the button, the yellow thread, and the iron-on stuff to make the heart stick, so this went pretty quickly. And I must admit, it was fun to sew something!

great idea! and very cute.
those are great!
p.s. sorry mabel was late today. sometimes being a one car family has it's disadvantages. :(
Update: I just fixed and finished the 2nd one; it looks more even and a little better than the first one. The kids are super impressed. Zoe's main reason for being impressed is that I free-handed the heart :)
What a fun idea and a great job!!! I predict more fun sewing projects in your future!
Nice job!
I'm so proud!! It's so cute, and a really great idea. I LOVE sugardoodle. They look fabulous!
