Happy Saturday!

We are having an absolutely splendid Saturday. This morning the kids and I decided to make a schedule for the day. Boy, has that helped the day to go well. Included on the list are chores (specific), playing in the loft, cleaning up the loft, reading, having piano lessons, eating lunch, playing outside, playing a board game, having dinner, and watching a movie. We assigned an order to the tasks and start/stop times, and it's all written out on the white board. The kids are loving to check their watches to see if we're on track. Right now they're enjoying outside play time in 74 degrees (it's gorgeous here).

Since none of our kids are in sports that take up our Saturdays, we usually devote Saturday mornings to chores, and Saturday afternoons to some kind of family activity. Today, Aaron and I each had other things to do, and had we not made a schedule, the kids would have likely spent too much time playing the Wii, or taken too long completing their chores. This way they have accomplished much more and had a fun, fulfilling day! Kids really do thrive on a schedule.
