There has been a lot going on around here lately... not as much in this house but in my sisters' houses! As for this house, on Saturday we did a reorganization project in the loft, to make a space for my treadmill and a space for our bedroom TV. We acquired a free old but awesome TV from Jamie, who's moving and preferred to get rid of it than move it. It's a great fit in our bedroom! And although it's a hand-me-down of a hand-me-down (originally at my parents' house), it still works great!
Kate had her baby last week, adorable little Paige, who we are all so excited about!! And Jamie is moving this week from 40 minutes away from my house, to 2 minutes away, which is very exciting too! Her daughter is starting school this week at my kids' school too, fun fun.
So with my minor involvement in my sisters' exciting changes and then also finding time to process the 30 lbs of Utah peaches sitting on my counter (some will be canned, some will be frozen, some will be baked into pies!) this is turning out to be a busy but fun week.
Speaking of fruit, I was just at Fry's again and they have strawberries on sale! 10 for $10! Pints of course. So, this means that in addition to the peaches I'll also be making another batch (or 2... or 5) of strawberry freezer jam, to last us through the winter. Oroweat Country White Bread (our favorite!) is also on sale right now; 2 loaves for $5. This is a good price; full retail is up to $4/loaf for this stuff these days.
Oh -- in other news, I lost another 2 pounds for a total of 6 so far! The diet is going great! Long live Weight Watchers!

Congrats on all the Butler fam news. Back in the day, I never would have foreseen you as the type to process 30 lbs. of peaches, but now I'm jealous of your culinary talent!
Given Aaron's lack of kitchen skills, I was forced to kick into high gear in the culinary department as soon as we got married... otherwise we would've starved.
I'm no expert but I would have to say I've come a long way since the first weekly "group dinner" with the girls in Hampton Court, when I had to get detailed instructions from my mom on how to cook homemade mac & cheese... You have no idea how secretly impressed I was with your teriyaki chicken!
A lot is going on in your house because you are doing so much to help us! Making dinner for Kate, letting me hang, babysitting my kids...you are a life saver!
I just remember that first trip to Smith's grocery store, where you and I stocked up on all frozen meals while the Spokane girls bought all these fresh ingredients. Until that very moment, it had never occurred to me to learn how to cook.
And I AM a lot better now. Just not canning-peaches better.
