Happy Father's Day

Another great holiday, isn't it? I have been blessed with a really great dad of my own, and now my children are blessed with a great dad of their own too. Today in Primary a little girl gave a talk about all the things our dads do for us; it brought me to tears. She had some adorable stuff on her list like "protect us from bad guys" and I can't recall any other specifics but it made me realize how lucky I have always been to have my dad. And, how lucky I am to have an awesome dad for my kids. We celebrated with sleeping in and french toast this morning; Hubs' was presented to him in bed along with a barrage of homemade kids' cards. He has been playing checkers and chess with the kids all afternoon. The kids have so much fun with him and I am so thankful for him!

Happy Father's Day to all.

THE TALK WAS BASICALLY THE RESPONSE ANNALISA GAVE TO ME ABOUT "HOW DO DADDIES TAKE CARE OF US?" I ASKED A FEW FOLLOW UP QUESTIONS AND WE READ IN THE FAMILY PROCLAMATION ABOUT THE THREE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES THAT DADDIES HAVE. ANNALISA NOTED THAT WE DID NOT HAVE THE THIRD ONE IN THERE - PROTECTING OUR FAMILIES- AND I BELIEVE THAT IS WHERE "PROTECTING US FROM BAD GUYS" CAME FROM.
