I'm feeling quite happy today so I thought I'd post something; although not too much is new around here. The kids returned to school after spring break and our regular household schedule has resumed too. Namely, school & homework & occasional chores & playing outside for the kids; piano teaching & housework & volunteering at the school & exercise class for me. The kids got their 3rd quarter reports cards this week, which were all just great, so we celebrated with dinner at Jason's Deli including seconds on ice cream.
The kids are great; of course they each have their moments of drama but all in all, they are sweet and wonderful (and yes I am bragging about them). Tonight Lucy cut a heart out of pink paper, wrote, "I love my mommy! Love, Lucy!" and taped it onto my shirt. We played charades as a family after dinner, and Aaron took the kids & dog to the park before dinner. Dinner was pork tenderloin, broccoli, and homemade rolls (dinner chosen by Noah). A good day! Yesterday the kids & I worked hard on decluttering the loft; we took a couple of bigger items plus two trashbags-full of smaller toys to Goodwill and moved some furniture around ~ it was a lot of work but now that room is so much nicer and the kids celebrated by having a sleepover on the floor together last night after watching a movie.
I wonder if it will always be this easy to love my kids; I mean when one of them is having a hard time (like taking an hour to eat dinner, or throwing a fit over nothing, or talking back), it's a rough little while but then later on it's forgotten and I just can't believe how much I love them. I remember when Noah was first born how overwhelming and new that sensation was; love for my very own child. Will it be this way when they're teenagers?
Anyway, here are a couple of random pictures; I don't have any recent ones of the kids that I haven't already posted so here are Aaron & I at different silly times. Aaron with Juno on his shoulders, and me showing what I look like with fake eyelashes on.
Have a great week!
