Sticking with it...

**Update: Note the new POLL on the top right! I know most of my readers are my blood relatives but I'm just curious -- so this new poll will be up for the next week. Please vote!**

And now on to business...
I am happy to report that as of this morning's weigh-in, I have lost a total of 12.2 pounds. What's even better is that this past week I lost 2.2, after the past few slightly disappointing weeks only about .4 or .6 each weigh-in (my digital scale only measures in even tenths). It is definitely a testament to sticking with it. I didn't do anything different last week, but I think maybe my increased metabolism (thanks to regular exercise) has kicked in or something... all I know is, it's nice to have a "significant" loss in a week after so many mediocre ones; I feel more motivated now to keep going!

How far will I go, you ask? I would like to lose another 5; 10 at the most. We'll see. There are two more pairs of pants I would like to fit into, and I think 5 pounds will accomplish that.

Yesterday at church I wore the dress that I was wearing the day someone asked me if I was pregnant, which I hadn't worn since. I didn't look the least bit preggo in it yesterday (I don't really think I did last time either...) As you may recall, that was the last straw that motivated me to start this diet. It has been 8 weeks. I really didn't think I'd stick with it longer than a couple weeks, or else maybe 5-7 pounds. I have a huge sweet tooth and could out-eat any of you in chocolate, pound for pound, guaranteed!! But for some reason I have really stuck to this, and I'm obviously feeling terrific about it.

So today I am celebrating by NOT running. Seriously people, that's hard work! As much as I enjoy the increased energy & metabolism that accompanies regular exercise, I don't REALLY enjoy doing it. Even with Prison Break.

But I will NOT celebrate by pigging out. No ma'am. Perhaps I'll just eat the last of these that I made yesterday to bring to choir... tasty-licious!

Wowee!! That is AWESOME!! Congratulations! You look great! Everytime you blog about your weight loss, you inspire me to try again and get on the point-counting bandwagon. So thanks!

You are such a motivator yourself. Thanks for helping me get started with weight watchers. It is so easy and it is nice because you choose how you use your points. I starve a little in the afternoon but am able to splurge to get that little icecream craving after dinner. I went to bed last night not even feeling like I was dieting. I hope I can lose as much as you. Congrats and good job on all your hard work.

Congratulations! I am on a new regimen too, and hoping to lose just a few . . . at a very unfortunate time of year, just as the holidays begin! Ah, me. Well, good luck to us both.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and leaving such a nice comment!
