The latest in a long line of random mini-obsessions

In no particular order:

Scrapbooking.

Tae Bo.

Genealogy.

Politics.

Child-bearing.

Chocolate-eating.

Ebay-ing.

Blogging.

Wheatgrass.

  1. I have wheat.
  2. I read online last night how to grow it into wheatgrass and it's easy.
  3. They say it's all healthy and stuff, although I'm pretty sure it tastes super nasty.
  4. If I can get away with not buying a wheatgrass juicer, this whole experiment will be very cheap... so why not give it a try!

So my question to you is, do you have any experience with this, does it taste as nasty as I suspect, have you ever experienced health benefits, and will my blender or my mini food processor work for juice extraction?

{And a big HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my awesome brother Zac!}

I don't know anything about wheatgrass. However, I do have The Juiceman juicer... which can juice ANYTHING. And you're certainly welcome to borrow it for this wheatgrass phase of your life. ;)

P.S. I never knew child-bearing was included in your list of mini-obsessions!

Oooh I may just have to take you up on that, and then not return it for 6 months like I did with your steam mop.
And hi, did you know me from 2000-2004 when all I did was bear children? :)

See, here I was wondering if the child bearing obsession was new again.

I got nothing on wheat grass. Is that the stuff at Jamba juice? Good luck with this one.

They do have it at Jamba juice if you want to try it. And I've tasted it and it's not as bad as you probably think. It's sweet and you only drink an ounce or two. It does take quite a bit of grass to get a little juice so you're constantly growing the grass and cutting it, etc. Katie and my mom drank it (are you surprised?) for a time.

Javier and I really love wheatgrass, but we feel it's an aquired taste. We chew an orange wedge right after to help with the odd taste, so you may want to try that. They say that one shot of wheatgrass (about 2 ounces) is equivalent to a pound of veggies, so there are DEFINITELY health benefits. You really should try it and then let me know how it goes, so I can copy you :)

Well, I used to juice it up for people when I worked at the pro shop at the gym. It was hard to juice, and it stinks. I never even wanted to try it. People that would taste it would always make a funny face, like it was nasty. More power to ya, but it seems like too much of a hassle t me.
