Taking a cue from Kate and Laurie (who should be giving birth any minute now... waiting for an announcement!!), I'll be a copy cat and tell you what's been going on with me...
Lately, I've been adjusting to the "school schedule," helping kids with homework, driving carpool, and trying to figure out the best use of my time.
Lately, I've been slightly obsessed with the Olympics but now that some of my favorite events are over, I look forward to getting some full nights of sleep again.
Lately, I've been back to a full schedule of piano students (14 right now) and they're all doing great! I really enjoy teaching.
Lately, I've been falling way behind on housework.
Lately, I've been feeling a little bit guilty for my happy life and my good health when some really, really great people are having some really, really hard times. It was all I thought about on Sunday night and all of yesterday. But then I realized that if all I did was dwell on others' suffering all the time, I would be missing out on my own life. So I just need to do what I can to help others and count my own blessings. And be happy.
Lately, Noah's been growing up! He started orchestra playing the cello, Tuesdays and Thursdays before school. He got his Bobcat at his first Pack Meeting last week (cub scouts). He rode on a kneeboard for a good 3 minutes at the lake on Saturday. He carries a heavy advanced-math textbook to and from school. He wears a tie tack to church. I'm just so proud of my firstborn; what a great kid.
Lately, I've been making mental lists and now paper lists: groceries to buy, things to do, food to cook & freeze, things to pack, and things NOT to forget as we get ready to leave town. Unlike last time, I don't have a list of posts all ready to go while I'm gone, so there will be a lull until we get back next week. We're not quite done with summer yet!! And we're going here. If you don't feel like clicking on that link, we're going to Lake Powell, and that's a link to my report from last year's trip. So... next week I'll be posting some very similar-looking pictures from this year's trip, but probably without the crazy waterfall. You should click on that link, it was crazy. Really.
Have a great week/weekend!

Did you know those people in the plane crash? How sad.
Have you talked to Buffie in the past few days? I'm sure you'll get a kick out of her new calling...
A cool blog. Make sure and take good pictures of your vacation. Then the rest of us can at least have a vacation through someone elses pictures. lol
Have fun
I don't know them, but feel like I do from reading her blog daily. But I felt so sad when I found out, it might as well have been someone I *actually* know.
Dying of curiosity about Buffie now... I'll have to email her.
Have fun in Powell. I'm still waiting around for my fun to start.
So sad about Nie and spouse--I've been reading c jane quite a bit, so I too feel like I know them vicariously. Crazy how quick everything in life can change.
Hope you are having a fun time. I've been so slow to comment lately. But as always, I love your posts.
Lately I have been extra bored because you are out of town. I am having a blast feeding your fish and staying an extra long time pretending like I am hanging out at your house with you! J/K I only stayed a long time once when I went through all your drawers in your bedroom. I mean... :)
I too am taking stock if my blessings and trying to enjoy life and make the moments matter. Like having our "NieNie moment" this morning making homemade donuts with the girls for a "Happy Saturday" surprise for daddy instead of buying a dozen at Albertson's or something.
Wow, Noah is growing up so fast! Hope you guys have a great trip!
