Molly was baptized on Saturday! It was a lovely service and we were fortunate to have a lot of friends and family there to support Molly on her big day. I kept my composure much better than when Noah got baptized; I did tear up a little bit this time around but Molly had warned me beforehand, "Mom, I hope you don't cry because if YOU cry, then I'LL cry, and I don't want to be crying at my baptism!" So, I kept it together for her :)
Afterwards we invited everyone to our house for brunch and I don't know how many people were there, but I do know that we went through a 50-pack of plastic plates plus some more smaller plates, so it was a pretty good crowd. I was up late the night before making food and up early the morning of, cutting up fruit, but I love doing that sort of thing and it was worth it to lose a little sleep (I took a nap this afternoon and except to be fully recouped by tomorrow).
For those of you who wonder, we had a double-batch of this breakfast casserole, my mom brough this punch, I made this banana bread, these cinnamon rolls, and these brownies, plus strawberries, pineapple, grapes, and apples with this fruit dip. In the non-homemade category I bought two bundt cakes from Costco; lemon cooler and orange-peach. Today I've been enjoying some leftover banana bread with that fruit dip spread on it; oh that is a heavenly combination.
It made for a busy weekend but it was also fun; seeing so many friends & family is always nice. And we're so proud of Molly; such a sweet girl who had been looking forward to being baptized for a long time. It was a great day.

Brandon is excited to be getting baptized too. Actually he is excited to start Cub Scouts, but we have been trying to emphasize the "baptism" part of turning 8 more than the cub scout stuff.
Hooray for Molly! She's such a cutie, and I think she can have her choice between Gabe or Jake the next time she needs a white dress! Wish we could have celebrated with you.
Congratulations, Molly! And, what a delicious spread!
Sounds like a fun day! Wish we could have been there. We'll be feeding brunch to around 50 people this weekend as well. I also make that same fruit dip, but add a little maraschino cherry juice to it.
It was a perfect day! Molly was so cute. I was thinking about Tom and Ruth, knowing they would love to be there but doing something else very important!
Fun, fun! She looks so cute! I really wish we could have been there, but I'm reall excited that we still get to see you soon!
Congratulations to Molly. Where does the time fly?
