Wow, another summer has flown by and the kids are already back in school! It was a very fun summer, but we had almost too many things scheduled. We created lots of great memories but as busy as we were, it truly went by too fast. Here are the kids on their first day back!
Here's our carpool group; this is the 6th year we have carpooled with Gabrielle and Ivy! Their mom and I have taken turns driving to and from school ever since Noah & Gabrielle were in 1st grade, and it has worked out great; it's truly a win-win and I'm glad we've been able to keep up this arrangement.
And here they are marching off to their first day of class.
Although last year was the first time I had all four kids gone all day, this year it has gotten a bit more complicated. Zoe and Lucy decided in the spring that they wanted to be in separate classes this year, so now I have four homeroom teachers to get to know, and coordinate classroom volunteering with. Noah and Molly are still both in orchestra this year; they go together on Monday and Wednesday mornings for Intermediate orchestra and then Noah goes additionally on Fridays for Advanced orchestra. All four kids qualifed to be in advanced math, and they have three separate A-math teachers. Noah and Molly are also both in advanced writing (they have the same A-writing teacher). So that means the kids have a total of NINE teachers!
Additionally, Noah is in student council and has the DAILY task of taking down the flags (AZ & USA) after the school day. I have the job this year (which I volunteered for) of organizing the parent volunteers who help in the cafeteria every day (Lunch Bunch) -- between 2-4 parents daily. So between that and regular classroom help, I will be on campus quite a bit this year. But, my kids are all there so what better place for me to be, right? :)
Oh yeah, and also there are NINE cousins attending the same elementary school this year! Isn't that fun? Between all the AZ cousins we have one Kindergartener, four 2nd-graders, three 4th-graders, and one six-grader. I'm determined to get a picture of the nine of them lined up in front of the school sometime.
Here's to a great school year!
