Our Trip

We arrived home safely on Wednesday evening and found that Santa had visited our house while we were gone; hooray! The kids love their new bikes and if it would just warm up a little bit they'd be outside riding them! Noah especially loves his - it has handbrakes and a kickstand, just as he requested. He gets the biggest smile on his face when he rides it and he keeps telling me over and over how much he loves it.

Anyway, our trip to St. George was great and I did learn a few things, which I will share with you, in no particular order. Some of these things were not new to me but reaffirmed. And some have pictures to go with them and some don't.

1. I learned how to play RISK - the game of global domination! I thought it would be boring but I was willing to give it a shot, and I thought it was great! Even though I came in 3rd place out of four of us. If anyone has RISK and about 6 hours to spare, call me up!

2. Cousins who only see each other once a year can still be best buds when they get back together.

3. Molly loves Sloan.

4. A stubbornly clogged kitchen sink does not necessarily ruin a vacation!

5. Even my most timid children can rip it up on a sled.

6. Noah learned how to play both parts of "Heart and Soul." (I know because I heard it at least 95 times.)

7. Zoe loves her uncle Jake.

8. Taking family pictures can be a topic of high drama. Who knew?
9. My in-laws are grrrreat!
10. Hubs is the best of them all!

11. Hubs loves taking the kids to Zion's.

12. If your travel route takes you through Vegas, taking a detour down the Strip will add at least 30 minutes to your trip.

13. They're building this new amazingly high roadway above Hoover Dam - what a feat of engineering! (See upper left in this picture.)

14. I have adorable nieces and nephews... and they all love their grandpa. (The three youngest ones are missing from this picture; I think they'd already gone to bed.)

15. The best kind of Christmas trees look like this:

I hope your Christmas was as wonderful as ours!

We had a great time too. Sara, your family is great! We really enjoyed our time with Aaron, you and your kids. I too, must admit that RISK was long, but fun. Have a great New Year!

Great pics, and while the cogged sink doesn't necessarily ruin the holidays, a clogged septic just might. Jakie P is still cool!
