They finished their lunch at 12:45pm. They sang a couple of silly songs but then it was time for the inevitable. I said, "Okay girls, go wash your hands & faces (still covered in peanut butter from lunch), and go up to bed for your naps."
At about 1:15 I realized it was very quiet in the house, so I left my perch at the computer (catching up on international news... and blogs) and tip-toed upstairs... to find this:

My what good little girls I have! They take a nap about once a week is all, which seems to be just the right amount of sleep catch-up for them. One good thing about twins (and other children close in age) is the positive peer pressure that often accompanies these sorts of things; they went right up to bed without me having to ask a second, third, or eighteenth time. How very lovely.
So now I am able to enjoy a quiet lunch by myself, ("quiet" being an extremely rare commodity in these parts), post this little post, analyze some presidential race polling (come on, Nevada; do some more polling already!), unload the dishwasher and do some other minor cleaning up, help Molly with her homework (she won't sleep very long) and take a breath before teaching piano this afternoon.
I sure love my kids (and of course that one other kid too, Mr. Noah, who's still at school and wouldn't be taking a nap anyway).

Awwwwwwww.
I just found out today that some friends are pregnant for the first time . . . and they're having twins! What a sweet thing.
Those girls ARE awesome. My boys need naps every so often... but I usually have to stay in their room with them until they are asleep. Sammy is particularly difficult. Cute sleeping beauties.
And cute shirts on Z & L. :)
Your kids have the sleeping magic touch. I can't get my kids to nap...ever! Even if I stay in the room with them, threaten them, bride them...it ain't happening!
I LOVE naptime. Wish it came around to visit more often, but Gabe and Jake are getting past that age. :(
