He's been doing quite a bit of typing practice lately, including his latest features of a huge first capital letter, and a title at the top. So literary.
Here's a picture of a game the kids invented over the break, & spent MANY hours on at least four different days playing it.
This activity took up most of our downstairs, but as long as they promised to clean it all up afterwards, it was fine with me! The game was twofold: they'd bring about eight thousand blankets & quilts downstairs, along with other supplies necessary for an overseas voyage and arrange rafts for themselves on the tile. Because the tile is water, as everyone knows. They were fleeing their oppressive government in Europe and coming to America in search of a better life (having recently watched Pocahontas). Upon their arrival to the living room rug, which is the land, as everyone knows, they would convert their rafts into elaborate thrones, with the help of chairs as shown above. Here they would assume their new roles as King, Queen, and Princesses of the New World. Noah was quick to point out that he was a righteous king; not interested in wealth but justice.
You may notice that the Christmas stuff was still up in the picture - I couldn't bear to take it down over New Year's, but did most of it this past Saturday. My house is just so plain and undecorated without the Christmas stuff up; I always delay the take-down.
Anyway, now the kids are back at school! So we're back to earlier mornings, daily homework, piano lessons, and no more raft voyages to the New World. Speaking of piano lessons, I dropped 3 of my students and added 5 new ones, so I have 14 now! We're starting up with the new students tomorrow and although I will be a little more busy, I think it will be fun.

I am so glad to see a picture of "Raft." Such creative kids you have. Is it because you have no toys and only rely on imaginative play? :)
We had a great break too. But it is back to work for my kids. This morning we started a new "job calendar." I think it will work okay, except that it is more work for me to get them to do it!
Cute kids you have!!
Of course Noah is a righteous King! They are so awesome. I hope my kids play like that together someday!
