Spring break: so far so good. The kids are keeping up very well with their "circle jobs" as we affectionately refer to them; in fact we've gotten to the point where all I have to say is, "It's time to do your circle jobs!" and they all scurry off and get them done quickly without a single nag from me (this is amazing). They're doing their piano practicing, keeping their rooms & the loft (toy room) clean, and playing nicely together (for the most part). But they know they have to do all this in order to partake of our newest exciting purchase, without which I am not sure what we would be doing with the rest of our day. But boy, it's been fun. Timing couldn't be better since it's actually a tinge too warm this week for playing very much outside, at least in the afternoons. This morning the girls were wading on the top step of the pool and coaxing Juno to wade with them, which she did. Is it really that close to summer already?
Yesterday I held a "toothpaste tutorial" for all four children in which we reviewed proper toothpaste-to-toothbrush application technique, as well as proper spit-in-the-sink-and-rinse-it-away technique, in an effort to reduce the amount of toothpaste globs that accumulate in and around their bathroom sink. Today they're helping sort the laundry, and we're going to Costco later on. Also in store for this week: more cleaning, more playing, more Wii. A cousins sleepover, going to a friend's house, having friends here. A week without school but also without an exciting destination (vacation) is just fine with me; it's kind of nice actually. How's your spring break shaping up?
P.S. Happy St. Patrick's Day! We had green pancakes for breakfast and we tied a green ribbon onto Juno's collar; other than that we're not doing much to commemorate this day but I will try to come up with some fun green stuff for dinner. Maybe something more interesting than a salad...

I'm still three weeks away from spring break (after Easter), but have been busy since Nate is out of preschool early. Huge story, probably worth an email.
Gotta get my kids cleaning up more.
We had to limit our Wii time to only on Fridays and Saturdays. It became all consuming. Of course we still make exceptions. :)
Have fun, sorry I'm sort of rambling.
We're having strawberries, kiwi and green apples with GREEN whipped cream for dinner dessert. Yum. :)
Sloan also had a Green breakfast this morning (its on our site).
I can't believe its already too warm to play outside. I'd love to have Sloan go outside to play but we still have snow in our backyard.
It's not THAT warm; the temp just jumped up a little this week and we're spoiled from our usually mild and lovely winter temperatures. Come about May, everyone will be wishing it was in the 80's again! Of course by then we'll be able to use the pool so the trade-off isn't too bad :)
What a nice site, seeing those kids doing the cleaning. It'll be nice when mine are old enough to do that!
That's my kind of spring break - slave labor! :) My girls are busy planning their sleepover for their 3-day weekend this week. It's kind of funny how much planning goes into having ONE friend sleep over. I'm not sure how many meals they're planning on eating, but they have an awful lot of recipes flagged in the 3 cookbooks they went through. Yikes!
Love the toothpaste tutorial. I think we should do one of those. And one of my goals this break was to make a circle chart. I still have time, right?
