I have made two outstanding purchases in the past week: some earrings from my good friend of nearly 20 years, Leigh, of Leedledeedle Designs... a very wise move since she threw in some extra as an early birthday present to me! Yay! They are so cute and I have been loving them.
And it turns out I have another friend, this one of over 20 years, who wrote a book! A great book. A book I am already halfway through after only receiving it yesterday because I can't wait to find out what happens next and I am neglecting exercise and dirty dishes to do so. I will write a thorough review on Amazon when I'm finished; but so far it is so entertaining. I have been telling this particular friend since at least high school that she should be a writer. At the time I was thinking she would be a perfect fit for Rolling Stone, but my goodness I am glad she didn't waste her talents on them and has written an entire novel instead!
I am 100% sure that based on my clearly stellar Photoshop skillz, you would each paricipate in National Support Your Creative Friends Week and hire me in a heartbeat to design your personal logo. I just know it. Unfortunately my schedule is full and I'm not taking on any more graphic design projects right now. I mean, designing the above-pictured make-believe NSYCFW logo took me nearly 12 minutes.
But I would encourage you to seek out your own creative friends and peruse their wares; there are some seriously talented people out there!

Thank you SO MUCH for the plug and overall support, on behalf of myself and our, er, mutual friend. Next time I need a logo, I'm calling you.
Sounds like a book I would like. I will read it as soon as Chandler Library gets a copy...
Thanks Sara! I'm so glad you like the earrings. And I've been wanting to get the book too. I'm glad to hear you like it.
As for creative friends - besides your lovely logo skilz - I would like to order a hand made book from you. One where you glue all the pages together separately and do some sort of crazy, colored on, soaked, wadded up, paper cover. Oh wait, I already have one of those from you. Seriously - that was pretty awesome.
ps - isn't it weird to say we've known each other for 20 years?
Update: I finished the book today and LOVED it. It starts out good but still manages to get better with every chapter. I knew my friend was a great, witty writer and I expected to be entertained but there are deeper elements and emotions in this book that I had not anticipated; oh it is a great read.
And Leigh, I thought I learned how make those books from you...? But thanks for the credit :)
