We've had a fun start to the New Year! On Friday we went to a movie as a family and then had a picnic at the park, where the kids rode their bikes and scooters around and also launched Noah's rocket a few times (it's fun; a great gift idea for your son or nephew or grandson).
On Saturday we decided to go in search of some snow to play in. I assumed the best idea would be to drive NORTH to find snowy mountains, but guess what... we went SOUTH! I had never been to Mount Lemmon before (by Tucson) and was really surprised at how much snow there was at the top. There's even a little ski resort there and the lifts (all two of them) were running.
Once we found a place to stop we ate lunch and then the snow play commenced! It started with a little snowball fight...
Out of the kids, we only had snow boots and pants (that fit) for Noah and Zoe, but they all had decent gloves and coats. I let Lucy go ahead & make a snow angel right before we left; I had brought extra pants & socks for the drive home so that the non-snow-clothes kids would be nice and cozy.
It was about 2 hours 40 minutes from our house to the top of Mount Lemmon; kind of a long drive for a day trip but we brought movies for the car ride and it was worth it for a fun snow day for the kids.

Fun!! That's way more snow than we saw in Ohio. You should have told me... I totally have bigger sizes of boots and snow pants.
It was kind of last-minute; otherwise I'd have called about the snow clothes. Next time :)
Looks like a blast. We did some sledding yesterday too. It doesn't last long when your kids are super little, but sledding sure is fun. I'm glad you got to see some snow. (And Molly looks so cute in her new red coat!)
Great pictures of a great activity. There is a lot more snow in Arizona than in Brazil. Rain, however, well that's a different matter.
Looks like you all had fun! Sloan also played outside in the snow on Saturday for over an hour. She loved it a lot more this year!
