What these boys do together when they're not playing the Wii

"Cousins in d minor"

This is two minutes of video, and not even necessarily the best two-minute performance, but a fairly accurate representation of the "duet" these two play on the piano almost every time they're together. They will go on and on for half an hour if you let them. I think it's pretty cool myself, even though it does get too loud after a while. That's Tyson, who's 7-almost-8 on the lower part, keeping the rhythm and chord progression going, and Noah, who's 9 1/2, on the top part making it up as he goes along. They are both really awesome on the piano (which is more apparent when they're playing "real" songs). It reminds me of when me and this girl would have sleepovers when we were about 14 and all we'd do is play piano duets... mostly Rachmaninoff. I look forward to the day I can bust out my Rachmaninoff duet book and play them with Noah!

That was awesome! And the whole time I was thinking of the sleepovers where we'd play for hours. I remember playing through most of my Beethoven sonatas book too (besides our lovely Rachmaninoff duet book). Maybe it's a good thing we don't live next door to each other, otherwise that would be us every day!

Why have I never heard this before?? That was great! My favorite? How Tyson is looking out the window most of the time! A few times he starts to dance a little too! Awesome!

Oh man Jame, they'll play this for you anytime I'm sure. When Tyson was coming over on Mondays for piano and there was that 15 minutes or so before piano lessons started, they'd come in the door and head right for the piano and play this same song nonstop until I told them to stop. Yeah, Tyson's a total groover :)

Tyson is a total Groover! That was so freaking awesome, seriously, how do I get my kids to be that talented at age 7?! I'm SO impressed. It must be your awesome teaching skillz.

That is seriously cool. I think I should limit the Wii time even more. My boys still kinda suck at piano.
