An oldie but a goodie... Noah's 5th birthday cake, his favorite so far, in 2005You know how I like to make cakes? Like, kinda cute, kinda fancy cakes for my kids' birthdays? I have posted pictures of most of them here on this blog, and if you click here you can scroll through all the posts with the "cakes" label attached and see most of the pictures. But on my recipe blog I am going to start posting directions for some of them, techniques to making moist, delicious, and aesthetically pleasing cakes, frosting/fondant, and more pictures. FYI.

You are one awesome mama. I am so glad your kids appreciate it! I used to be one too...until I made a gorgeous giant strawberry cake with little strawberry runners (cupcakes) for a Strawberry Shortcake birthday party. The birthday girl was mad because "Strawberry Shortcake the girl" wasn't on it. That about did me in! Then they wanted crap wal-mart cupcakes with plastic dress up rings.
Alright! Maggie has seen your Hello Kitty post and keeps begging me for it (I know the directions are there, but really where am I going to get the time?), so I keep putting it off. I think that I just might do that for her b-day.
