Utah Trip: the conclusion

We spent last Friday afternoon at Cowabunga Bay, a water park in Draper that I'd never heard of before this trip! It isn't very big (not a full-fledged water park) but it was plenty; just right for the 4-hour passes we'd bought. I didn't take very many action shots for fear of getting the camera wet, but here's the main play structure, with several slides coming off it. There's also a lazy river and plenty of lounge chairs; we had a good time.
On Saturday it was Cousins Day! Emily and her kids came down from South Ogden to hang out all morning. In the afternoon we met the other cousins at a splash pad in Highland. All the kids had fun.

Zoe & Sloan

Can you tell what this is? A close up crop of Zoe's leg & Sloan's arm from the photo above. Just to showcase the wide variety of skin tones amongst the cousins :)

Noah, Gabe, Molly, Monique, Zoe.
And I think Nicole's legs, and Parker's red & blue swimtrunks.

That evening we went to Josh & Nicole's house for dinner and hang-out time. Aside from Molly's very traumatic experience of being stung by a hornet, it was fun.

Here's all 12 grandkids! The kids aren't situated in a very convenient way for me to label them, but I'll try anway...
Left side column, top to bottom: Noah (10), Monique (8), Preston (19 mo), Sloan (2 1/2), Gabe (5)
Middle column, top to bottom: Zoe (6), Molly (8), Zac (3)
Right side column, top to bottom: Malori (11), Owen (4 mo), Lucy (6), Parker (4 1/2)
Our kids don't see their Utah cousins often enough, but everytime they do I'm amazed at how well they play together. It's almost as if no time has elapsed at all! Some of these cousins we hadn't seen since a year ago, and still the kids just pick up where they left off.

We capped off Saturday night by playing a little Rockband at Jake & Tiffany's, then got a good night's sleep and headed out on Sunday morning.

We took the 89 from Spanish Fork all the way south; a route we hadn't taken before. It took an hour longer but it was a really pretty drive. I don't think I had ever seen the Manti temple; isn't it a gorgeous building? It's the 3rd oldest operating LDS temple and was dedicated in 1888.

Thanks again to our Utah relatives for such lovely hospitality; we had a really fun trip.

We saw that place in Draper when we were there in both October and March and wondered what it was (but it wasn't open so we couldn't tell).

Say hi to Josh & Nicole for us! :)

It was so fun seeing you guys. We don't see you enough, but we feel the same way about just picking up where we left off. You guys are so awesome, and we're so glad you decided to come. OH, and my picture of the kids didn't even turn out as well as this one...so you picked the best one!

What travels! It reminds me so much of the driving trips my family would take when I was a kid from AZ to SLC to visit our Utah cousins. Visit BYU campus to take a tour of Mom and Dad's courtship? Check. Visit Temple Square? Check. Being besties with cousins we hadn't seen in a year or two? Check. Trying out different routes home? Check.

I, too, saw that Draper waterpark when I stayed at a hotel just down the street back in April, but from the back it just looked like a single slide in the middle of nowhere. Your photography makes it look way more fun.
