The "invention" of a Snack Basket. A while back I bought a bunch of snack-sized Ziploc bags on sale, and I buy crackers & other snack items in bulk at Costco. I refill the Snack Basket as needed with baggies full of Goldfish crackers, dried apricots, pretzels, Wheat Thins, and other crackers, as well as individually-packaged items such as Bunny Grahams, Dunk-Ems, granola bars, and whatever else we have around here. At my kids' school they are supposed to each bring a snack every day which they eat mid-morning. I don't understand the necessity of this, since my kids don't usually have a mid-morning snack when they're NOT in school, but I will certainly allow them to have one at school since everyone else is. Having a convenient Snack Basket in my pantry helps our busy mornings to go SO much smoother and saves us all time, now that all four kids are in school.

that is a super idea. i must try it.
that is a great idea. for after school too.
Love that idea. But I'm thinking yogurts and string cheese might not fair as well in the pantry. :)
Great idea! Maybe this would end the constant "what can I eat???" question after school. I only have 3 in school all day, but I get asked the question at least 20 times every afternoon. I'm pretty sure they keep asking thinking maybe *this* is the time I'll say, "How about an entire carton of ice cream, dear?" I'll definitely have to create a good snack basket.
