I ♥ Half-Day K

Lucy put her hood on because she was cold. Well of course she was; the high was only about 103 today!

Half-day Kindergarten is nearly obsolete in our state, but we are fortunate enough to still have it offered at our school. I am SO happy that all four of my kids have been able to come home before lunch time every day of Kindergarten, and save the LONG day stuff for first grade.

My two big girl Kindergarteners and I went out to lunch for a fun first-day-of-school treat yesterday; pizza and chocolate milk and ice cream at Jason's Deli. After we got home they couldn't WAIT to get started on their homework!

In other news, Noah and Molly also had a great first day. Molly says her 2nd grade teacher is now her new all-time favorite teacher, and Noah gleefully exclaimed that his new teacher is "REALLY NICE!!" which is good news since the rumor at school last year was that she's mean.

After the big kids got home from school we celebrated with smoothies and a movie (at home). Dinner was macaroni & cheese (Kraft) followed by chocolate cake (store-bought).
Nice and simple.

I love it too. And I love what Mrs. Barclay said about the kind of parents who still opt for half day. I sure do like her so far.
Now if I could just get Sam well enough to GO to school. Sheesh.

i love half day, too. sadly, it is no longer an option at our school. oliver will have to do all day next year. and all day is so very long when you are 5.

see you next week!

Lucy was telling me how good Jason's Deli was while you guys were here. I'll have to try it sometime. What a fun day for those two girls!
