It is a sad, sad day here at Happy Life.
After 17 years of driving and having received NO speeding tickets, EVER, I got my first one yesterday.
Darn that Gilbert Road and its 25 mph speed limit.
Good thing I have some awesome fireworks to look forward to and cheer me up. Happy 4th of July tomorrow and Happy Birthday USA!
And happy birthday to my darling niece Keeton too; how fun to share a birthday with our country!

My record has been tarnished

Oh I'm so sorry, I have had two, and cried my way through both of them, not trying to get out of them just so embarrassed and nervous around the cops. Thankfully my just yesterday I got pulled over again and it would have been a bad one, but the guy let me off because I was trying to catch up with Matt in a new city, again I bawled like a baby.
ooo, bummer. well, at least traffic school is only 4 hours long.
That is really sad. Congratulations on the 17 year clean record though. That is amazing. I don't think many people can say that.
You're not the first person I've heard of who got one there (not me...other people). Tempe in particular is BRUTAL when it comes to speeding tickets! I got my first (and only) speeding ticket exactly 10 days after we moved to Arizona. And I saw cops at least 2x every day during my commute.
I, myself, have had 2 also. It's a horrible feeling. The first one, I worried all day about how to tell my Dad. And the second one, I worried all day about how to tell Nate!!
I got pulled over twice in college and was lucky with warnings both times; but I have never been pulled over since then (except for one time I was driving Aaron's car and he had forgotten to put his new tags on; they were in the backseat!) I'm pretty sure I cried being pulled over when I was younger but I didn't this time; I was just shaking and nervous but I had all the kids with me and I was talking to them the whole time about what was going on, etc. A great learning opportunity. I guess.
I'm not sure I can still feel good about reading your blog.
I got my ONLY speeding ticket in Parawon, UT on the way to watch my brother compete in the state finals for hurdles in Vegas, baby. That was back in 1993!! Also of significance is that is the first time I saw my husband when he false started in the finals. :(
Gilbert cops are my least favorite, I had never gotten a ticket before and thanks to my speedy driving and gilbert police I have gotten two this year, if that makes you feel any better. I heard you can do driving school on line, I don't know if it's true. Anyway, your girls hair always looks so cute, you should have a mom and me hair party, I think that would be so fun. Have a great 4th!
Ouch! All the kids in the car too?! Aaron taught his niece to cuss when he got a ticket while she was in the car. I am sure that your mouth is pure even if you driving record isn't!
