The kids were pretty good in the car for the drive to Durango; 8 hours there & about 9 hours back. They watched several movies and we listened to a variety of music. The kids fell in love with this album (because come on, robots are involved); I fell in love with this album. Okay, fell in love is too strong but I do really like it.
We stopped at FOUR CORNERS... on the way there, it was closed already (did you know that Arizona does not do daylight savings time, but the Navajo Nation does - even the part of the Navajo Nation that is IN Arizona? Confusing. And another thing, why would you "close" a big X on the ground where four states meet? Dumb.) so we hit it on the way home. Read my sister's post on the subject - she's a witty one!

Love the last shot, there is beauty all around isn't there.
You guys find the best places to go take a vacation, all your pictures are so great. I can't believe the one you are water rafting with the kids. I would probably have a heart attack, but it looks like so much fun! I'm glad you are back safe.
I have a picture of me and my siblings at Four Corners when I was about 2 or 3 years old. But, that was before the Indians took it over and you could visit it for free, didn't have to wait in line, and it was always open.
Kate's Four Corners shot is very cool. (Yours is cool too.) Thanks for the heads up on the albums. I know Dan has some Beck, so I'll have to see if this is one he's got already.
Yeah for the sunburst at the end of your trip; that almost makes coming home from vacation okay.
