2008 in Alphabetical Review

The marathon post is here! I knew this would take some time but it was lots of fun looking through all of 2008's pictures and blog posts. In an effort to make this not-as-long-as-it-could-have-been, not all entries include a photo. So here goes...

A
is for Anniversary. September brought mine & Hubs' 11th anniversary, which we celebrated by going to a Beck concert. A is also for applesauce, which I canned 43 quarts of in November.

B
is for Baptism. My firstborn turned 8 and was baptized in June; what an amazing day that was. B is also for boat; we brought Hubs' family's boat here from Utah in April and enjoyed it all summer.

C
is for Camping. We went camping in May and June and October; such fun. C is also for Cello, which Noah started playing this year.

D
is for Durango, where we went in July. An amazing trip.

E
is for Easter Sunday photo shoot. Such sillies.

F
is for Flowers, the theme of Molly's 6th birthday in April. F is also for Four Corners, and First Full year of blogging.

G
is for Garage Sale, which we did in November.

H
is for Haircuts, which happened in early December. Less memorable but much cuter are July's haircuts!

I
is for Icing. In June I presented for you my "tour of cakes" ~ all the fancy-ish cakes I've ever made. And then I made Noah's basketball birthday cake; definitely among my favorites.

J
is for Juno. Santa was so nice to bring us a puppy this year! J is also for Jam, of the strawberry freezer variety, which I made several batches of during the spring and summer. And J is for Jumbotron, which crazy enough I think I appeared on 3 times at Suns games during 2008.

K
is for Kneeboarding, a new skill that Molly and Noah both learned this year.

L
is for Lucy. What can I say; this girl is so much fun.

M
is for Molly. So sweet, helpful, and considerate.

N
is for Noah. He's really growing up; I love this kid.

O
is for Olympics! How fun is was to watch the Olympics in August; and oh yeah remember how my Grandpa won a gold medal in 1948?
P
is for Prophet ~ 2008 brought the passing of President Hinckley, and our new prophet President Monson. We love them both! P is also for Presidential Primaries... which did not have the outcome I wanted but it was sure interesting. And P is for lake Powell.

Q
is for Quilts. We received from my Mom this awesome Halloween quilt, as well as a Christmas quilt and Christmas wall-hanging this year. Thanks Mom!

R
is for Recipes. I started my recipe blog over the summer and although I haven't devoted the time to it that I'd like to, it's still fun for me.

S
is for San Diego. We were able to go to San Diego in March and in October this year; we LOVE it there! S is also for Spelling Bee.
T
is for Teaching. As in, teaching piano lessons. I have had 14 or 15 students throughout 2008 and I really do enjoy it.

U
is for Umbrella, another fun thing that Santa brought for Christmas.
V
is for Vote! Got to vote in the primaries and general election this year. It was great to be involved and to learn more about civics.

W
is for Wig, which I sported one strange night in November.
X
is for Xerox. It's a little hard coming up with X-words but between teaching piano, directing choir at church, and being in the primary presidency, there is always something that needs copying... they all know me at the UPS Store.

Y
is for Yard. During the fall our backyard underwent a little transformation; Hubs took out the pool fence, moved rocks, borders, sprinklers, and planted new grass. Isn't it pretty? Y is also for Yellowstone, where Hubs went in September with the boys.

Z
is for Zoe, of course! What a fun girl; she's growing up way too fast but I'm so glad to be her mom.

Phew! It was a good, good year.

Looks like you had an awesome year! And that Halloween quilt your mom made is to die for! Does she have a pattern for it, or did she do it "freehand"?

That would have made an awesome Christmas letter! I was too tired (as you'll see by my New Year's post) & lazy to put photos in my 2008 review. Sounds like you guys have had a great year.

I just realized that I read this a few days ago and forgot to comment. Great list! What a lot of work to put that together! When I started reading it, I was very curious to see if you were going to be able to come up with the odd letters -- Q, X, Z... thank goodness for Zoe! :)

What a great year!!! I'm glad you have a blog, I'm always learning something from you, new recipe, something you did with your kids, etc. You take great pictures of your adorable kids too. That easter picture is pretty funny, you do the girls hair pretty and Noah is messing it up, your kids are hilarious.
